Forgiveness
By admin on May 11, 2009 | In Blog unitl your enlightened

At the root
of virtually all spiritual practices
is the notion of forgiveness.
It is perhaps
the most healing thing
that you can do
to remove the low energies
of resentment and revenge
from your life completely.
Your resentments
will destroy you.
They are low energies.
Think about every single person
who has ever harmed you,
cheated you,
defrauded you,
or said unkind things about you.
Your experience of them
is nothing more than a thought
that you carry around with you.
These thoughts of resentment,
anger, and hatred
represent slow,
debilitating energies
that will disempower you.
If you could release them,
you would know more peace.
First, you have to get
past blame.
Then you have to learn
to send love to all,
rather than anger
and resentment.
Not being offended
is a way of saying,
"I have control
over how I'm going to feel,
and I choose to feel peaceful
regardless of what
I observe going on."
With that sense of inner peace,
you'll find yourself free
of the negative energy
of resentment,
and you'll be able to live
a life of contentment.

Over 100 U.S. hospitals offer Reiki & other complementary modalities
By admin on May 5, 2009 | In Blog unitl your enlightened
A note from Wendi Brown!!
Below is a wonderful list of hospitals that DO offer Reiki and other complementary modalities. Many strides have been made to integrate the Eastern and Western modalities.
I have decided to send this list to our hospital here, St. Rose. As I noted, the Las Vegas Diocese made the decision to remove Reiki from their "integrative medicine" services being offered. It was the decision of the Diocese I was told, and they have no plans to reinstate this modality. They still have Reflexology, Herbs, Hypnosis and massage. I am happy they still have what remains, but am frustrated that this has occurred. I believe there are always solutions, so I shall focus on that, but thought others may be interested in the hospitals that have these services, often for free to patients.
My mother, who had breast cancer, was given Reiki both before and after her operation when she was at a CT hospital to have her lymph nodes removed. She told the doctor after the lymph removal that she had NO pain, which is quite unusual. The doctor's response was, "Wow, I hope I can do that again."
He was a wonderful doctor, and my intention is only to advocate that there be an integration of the two or more types of medicine - primarily East and West.
My mother is now cancer and pain free, and the integration of both types of medicine allowed her to be less stressed and more comfortable throughout the process. The Reiki volunteers in the hospital were wonderful.

How Can I Be Free of Fearful Thoughts?
By admin on May 2, 2009 | In Blog unitl your enlightened

Question:
How can I be free from the negative and fearful thoughts and emotions that dominate me?

Answer:
Don't let yourself become a victim of your emotions. When you are scared, it isn't the real you that is scared, it is your personality interpreting circumstances that may be adverse. You are not these emotions; they don't own you. As you begin to understand that you don't belong to your emotions, then you can detach from them. It's simply a matter of saying, "I won't be victimized by my emotions".
Don't make the mistake of confusing your emotions with your feelings. Your feelings are inside the etheric. They are 500,000 times faster than you think they are. They are quick, they can move anywhere, they can look at anything. What you think are your feelings are just emotional or physical sensations, and for the most part, they are crawling along at very slow speeds. You are not these emotions. When you are scared, your personality and ego lead you to believe that you are the fear. But you can't be. It's impossible for that to happen to you. You exist as a spirit beyond these things.
If you have reconciled fear, you are free. If you accept your life, you are free. If you don't resist, you are free. It's only the ego that says you have to have a pain-free existence. It's only the ego that says you shouldn't die. It's only the ego that says you have to have glamour and importance. It's only the ego that says you have to follow the path that it wants you to follow. It's nonsense. Life will go the way it goes. And when you don't fight it, you're free. The less you fight it, the less anguish and negativity you create.
[...]
If your ego believes you should be immortal and you drop dead, it's a contradiction. If your ego believes you should not experience pain and you hit your thumb with a hammer, it's a contradiction. In fact, if you didn't have an ego parliament inside your head, you could not experience negativity.
Animals live in an absolutely positive dimension. Even if an animal breaks a leg and is in pain, it doesn't think, My God, this is ghastly. It doesn't have a concept of ghastly. It doesn't have an opinion that says a broken leg is worse than a healthy leg. It has pain sensations running up its leg, but it doesn't have an opinion that resists the experience. So as you give away the resistance and reconcile death, and as you understand the incredible heroism and beauty of this existence, you can free yourself from all emotions.

~Gratitude ~ Embracing Every Blessing~
By Shaman Elder Maggie Wahls
shamanelder.com
Walking in gratitude is not a hard thing to do yet it is the basis of a happy life and your own personal power. Native Americans give thanks to Mother Earth for everything they have. Christians give thanks before they eat. Shamans give thanks to the universe for all that they are.
When we walk in gratitude we find again that sense of wonder in everything around us. We realize the bounty that we have in life. We appreciate the beauty we see. We hear the beautiful winds in the trees. We smell the flowers. We know how much is given to us that we didn't even have to work for. We walk with a sense of smallness against this gift, this experience of life.
Being grateful is as much a part of being mature as having wisdom or discernment.
Gratitude teaches us to admire those around us, to lend a helping hand to those who need one. And who are we not to be grateful? Do we not see the blessings of the air we breathe? Do we not realize how fortunate we are to be walking this land? Just look around at all the places you could be.
Did you have a good idea today? Be grateful for that! Did you eat today? Be grateful! Is there a dollar in your wallet? Can you be grateful for that? When was the last time you looked into the heavens and said, "Thank you!"
Albert Einstein was one of the greatest thinkers in history. He was always aware of what could have been and expressed his thanks each day. Gandhi had nothing and yet was one of the most grateful men who ever lived. It isn't about who you are or what you have, what station in life you have been blessed with. It is simply to be. To be is worthy of thanks.
Some people feel they have nothing to be thankful for. But do they have air to breathe? Did they get up this morning and find the sun shining? Did they find another human being to talk to? Companionship, caring, compassion, beauty, life, seasons, the earth, these are all worthy of our thanks.
The Shaman cannot heal without gratitude.
It is not the Shaman who creates any healing, who finds the lost souls, who comforts the dying with hope in new life. These things are greater than any man, Priest or Shaman. It is our interconnectedness with each other through the universe that gives us what we need, what we want and even more than we imagine.
Start each day with a prayer of thanks giving.
Tell the universe how happy you are to find the sun shining in your window, to hear the birds singing and see the green grass glowing with dew. Thank your Creator for the gifts you will receive this day. Humble yourself at the magnificent creation of life and give gratitude for being an observer of this most holy miracle today.
By giving thanks you are opening yourself to all the possibilities of goodness. You are joining into the universal awareness as a participant in life. You are forming a council and taking your seat in the creation of the day. You come with open hands to receive and ready to give your blessings to those around you. You realize your fortune and you wish that same fortune for all.
Being grateful sets the place for goodness and open communication with teachers and guides. It shows your willingness to learn and your respect for what is. Gratitude manifests more things to be grateful for. If you make a list each day of those things you feel grateful for you will find that your list will grow over time. It will change from things seen to those things that are unseen and far more important than material possessions or fame. You will touch the very fabric of your soul and feel the blessings you have that are so worthy of your gratitude. In humbleness, you receive more than you could ever receive with pride. Gratitude begets humility in this awesome life experience.
A Shaman knows this humility and often falls to his knees to return the heartfelt love that he recognizes and honors. The power of the Shaman comes not from within but from without because a man standing on his own is just a man but a man standing on the grace of gratitude walks with Spirit and is given everything - even the ability to heal. Approach each day, each hour, each minute with gratitude in your heart and find love filling your spirit with its own power and truth.
