Using Self Help For Panic Disorders
By admin on Jun 19, 2009 | In Blog unitl your enlightened
Many times people that have a panic disorder do not want to be treated with medication. They do not want to be placed on a pill everyday to keep them from having a panic attack. This is not unusual for anyone to do. They will not want to be controlled by any form of medication for the problem that they are going through.
There are different ways to use self-help when you are going through the problems that a panic disorder can bring to you. Having the right state of mind to help you concentrate on how to feel better is going to be a great relief for many people. There are many self-help methods for panic disorders that are the same for controlling stress and other related emotional problems. There is no reason to be alarmed at this type of situation. You should not have to use a pill or any other type of medication to keep you on the right track.
Using music to help you feel better is something that is going to be a good method. You can listen to your favorite music when you are feeling down or like you are going to have a panic attack. This can be any form of music that mellows you out. You want to feel good about yourself and get your thoughts and emotions under control before you lose it all together.
Another good idea is to take a walk or exercise. Burn out your frustrations and stress through this type of release. Getting a good workout is going to be essential to anyone that is looking to keep their mind clear and to get them straightened out so that they can let go of the fear of having a panic attack over something that is working on their mind and body. You can do this anytime of the day or night if you are feeling as if you are about to have an attack.
Writing your feelings out on paper is another good way to get out your anxiety at the time. You can write down exactly how you are feeling so that you are feeling good about yourself. You will find that once you write down your feelings you will be able to release your anger and get yourself back on track. Think about the fact that you can write out your anger instead of yelling it aloud or keeping it bottled out.
Yelling is something that you can do if you are able to. You must make sure that you are away from others. You do not want to yell in front of others because they may in fact think that you are having a breakdown. You want to walk away from anyone and find as private area so that you are able to do your yelling and feel good the situation that you are in.
There is always something that you can do to make you feel good about yourself. You want to let the anger and the stress out so that you are not keeping it inside you and this will only make you feel worse. A panic disorder is going to affect a person all of the time. There will be times when you are not able to let the panic go and you will have to do whatever it takes to bring yourself to a calm and relaxed state of mind.

Your Everyday Messages from God

HEARING GOD'S VOICE
by Barbara Dutcher @ theguidewithin.org
Your Everyday Messages from God - What does it mean to hear God’s voice? Is it possible for every-day people to hear from God? Do you get messages from God? Read on!
Many people have been told that hearing from God is unlikely, or even impossible. Prayer is okay, many people think, because that means a human is talking. But, actually hearing a message from God is suspect – some may even call you crazy if you claim such a thing!
You may have grown up believing that only certain people (priests, for instance) are able to know God’s words. These special people then have to pass on God’s words to the rest of us.
Or, you may believe that God’s thoughts, words or guidance are simply a mystery. These are things that humans aren’t meant to know, or can’t fathom, because they are too high above us.
Do these beliefs and opinions sound familiar? Traditional religion has perpetrated these ideas for many years. Luckily, there is a growing group of people these days that knows and teaches that it is not only possible to hear God’s voice, it is natural and in fact it’s our birthright!
The truth is, Spirit will use every possible opportunity to communicate with you. Messages are all around, all the time, if you know where to look. Each of us is not only able to hear spiritual messages, we are hardwired for it. It is impossible for us to be disconnected, no matter how confused or lost we may feel at any particular moment. Answers are always available, and Spirit finds many large and small ways to speak to us all day, every day.
Here are some ways you are probably already hearing God’s voice – you’re just calling it something else!
1. Intuition – that little knowingness that clues you in to information you would have no other way of knowing. This is the voice of your inner guidance speaking.
2. The still, small voice – sometimes called Holy Spirit, or Higher Self, this voice speaks inside your head to provide inspiration, guidance or reassurance. The voice usually speaks softly to provide a spontaneous answer, or some needed information.
3. Dreams – have you ever asked for an answer from your dreams? Try it before going to sleep – this is an easy way to get an answer that is for your highest good. Inspirational and precognitive dreams are very common for many people.
4. Signs – noticing and even asking for a sign is an ancient art. This can work spontaneously, or purposefully. Some people invent a special sign for a special purpose, or just to reassure themselves that they are being guided to a right decision or path.
5. Songs/art works/poetry – all art forms are great ways for God to speak to humankind. As examples, think of inspiring songs like “Give Peace a Chance,” and the poetry of Rumi, for instance. All art works that inspire are guideposts, messages, reminders of higher consciousness.
6. Feelings – one of Spirit’s favorite ways to contact us! Your feelings won’t steer you wrong – even those we call ‘gut feelings’ are from God! In fact, in ancient times, it was believed that part of the brain was in the gut because of this very phenomenon, and modern science is confirming this fact.
7. Other people – yes, any kind, loving and wise words are straight from God. The other kinds of words aren’t! So, if a friend (or relative) offers advice that makes you feel closer to God – those are words you can trust! On the other hand, if someone’s unsought counsel makes you feel fearful, or guilty, or anxious – feel free to ignore it. You can even get a message from an overheard conversation, if you’re paying attention.
8. Oracles – another ancient method for getting communication from a Higher Source. Just don’t overdo the I Ching, Tarot or horoscope – too much of a good thing can be counter-productive. Use your intuition to interpret the message.
9. Life experience - your whole world is a message from your Higher Self to you, if you have ears to hear and eyes to notice.
As you can see from these examples, Spirit is always communicating. Are you getting the message?
About Reiki
By admin on May 22, 2009 | In Blog unitl your enlightened
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) is a Japanese form of hands on healing developed by Dr Mikao Usui (1865-1926). Reiki is, essentially, the channelling of Universal Energy through a trained practitioner through to the client. It is non invasive and can help with almost anything, and works well in conjunction with orthodox medicine. Reiki is a spiritual, not a religious practice. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose or cure, they simply allow the body to do its own healing.
Reiki allows the body to help heal It self. The body is given a chance to relax, and so doing, allows healing to take place. The body is assisted in its own healing process by the transference of the energy known as Reiki, which gently brings peace and calm to the body and allows nature to do its job.
Reiki can assist with stress, as it allows the client time to relax, helps with emotional issues, energy blockages, life changes, physical illness (as stated above) and can help a person see where they are going in their lives, giving balance and peace.
Reiki has five principles, these are:
Just for today do not worry
Just for today do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude for all things
Reiki is taught in three levels with teaching and Attunement to the Reiki energy. Anyone can learn Reiki; it is a very simple form of healing, for all people of all ages from any walk of life and from any faith, because the Universal Energy (Ki or life force) is “Universal” – for ALL!

Doing meditation the reiki way.
By admin on May 18, 2009 | In Blog unitl your enlightened
Regular practice of the simple two-way technique of Reiki meditation can not only help you improve your focus and awaken you spiritually, but
Meditation
Doing meditation the reiki way.
also can amplify your innate healing abilities to help you achieve holistic health
Maintaining a high level of life force energy, prana, is a pre-requisite for holistic health, achieved through practice of various techniques that can generate balance between body and mind, such as yoga, Tai Chi, Quantum Touch, or Reiki, to name just a few. All of them employ one or the other form of meditation as an important component for treatment at the physical, mental, and emotional levels.
The two-in-one Reiki meditation technique deftly combines the healing powers of both meditation and Reiki. The benefits accruing from them increase manifold as a consequence of synergy generated by blending them together. What keeps Reiki meditation apart from other meditation forms is its unique ability to strengthen the innate healing capability of the practitioner.
Mikao Usui revived the ancient art of tapping into the universal life force energy for healing known as Reiki. He was once asked by a pupil," I have practised meditation for a number of years, why do I need to learn Reiki to help me learn to meditate?" Meditation is an integral part of Reiki. In his Reiki practice and teachings, Usui practised meditation as an important constituent. In fact, he often used Gassho (hands held in prayer position) meditation as a means to pass the ability to channel Reiki to the practitioner. Also, Osho Rajneesh who developed Osho Neo Reiki twenty years ago included powerful meditations for a faster healing.
After Mikao Usui, a number of forms of Reiki Meditations have found their way in Japan and other countries.
One of the simplest but effective RM involves the following steps:
1. Sit quietly with closed eyes in a Sukh Asana or upright in a chair, with both hands held in front of your chest in prayer `Gassho position and the soles of the feet joined together.
2. Connect to Reiki by simple intent or by drawing distant healing symbol
3. Draw the power symbol with your hand in front of you and say it three times. Visualise white light emanating from your fingers.
4. Visualise the symbol in the third eye chakra and meditate on it.
5. Now allow the symbol to float up as a brilliant light above your crown. Return your awareness to the third eye chakra.
6. When finished, relax and release your all thoughts. You feel fully energised with the healing energy
For those who do not possess the ability to channel Reiki, the Gassho meditation can be performed in this way:
1. Hold your hands a little above the chest in prayer position in such a way that that your exhaled breath can be felt at a point where the top of the middle fingers representing fire element meet the hands joined together.
2. Now focus your attention at that point and try to release stray thoughts by focussing at the point repeatedly. Do not try to chase stray thoughts. Return your focus to the point by pressing the two middle fingers against each other.
Practise RM for twenty minutes a day or as long as you feel comfortable. Reiki Meditation deftly combines the usual healing effects of simple meditation techniques with Reiki and works in more ways than one.
