Woman and a Fork

By admin on Aug 22, 2008 | In Blog unitl your enlightened

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things "in order," she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes.

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.

Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her.

"There's one more thing," she said excitedly.

"What's that?" came the Pastor's reply.

"This is very important," the young woman continued. "I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand."

The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing quite what to say.

That surprises you, doesn't it?" the young woman asked.

"Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request," said the Pastor.

The young woman explained. "My grandmother once told me this story, and from that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming...like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance!'

So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder "What's with the fork?" Then I want you to tell them: "Keep your fork, the best is yet to come."

The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that the young woman had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge. She KNEW that something better was coming.

At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket and they saw the cloak she was wearing and the fork placed in her right hand. Over and over, the Pastor heard the question, "What's with the fork?" And over and over he smiled.

During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had with the young woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either.

He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind you, ever so gently, that the best is yet to come. Friends are a very rare jewel , indeed . They make you smile and encourage you to succeed .

Cherish the time you have , and the memories you share being friends with someone is not an opportunity but a sweet responsibility.

REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR FORK.....ALWAYS

Being One With God

If we go down deeply inside ourselves, Ernest Holmes the creator of Science of Mind says, we will bump into God. Where else are we going to find God except deep down inside ourselves? Until we understand that, we are working with just the power of our own two hands. We can get some things accomplished. We can function. We can pay our bills. We can stay alive.

POWER AND WISDOM - When we connect to the power within ourselves, we will lead lives that are full and creative and juicy and alive and powerful. We will accept that we are at-one with God, and we will be able to access that power and wisdom. When we recognize that the power exists, and identify that power inside ourselves, it makes a tremendous difference in our lives. It makes God utterly real. It takes God out of the realm of the abstract concepts and makes God a living God inside us; moving through us, being us.

THE DEEPER LEVEL - At the ground of our being, at the deeper level of divine mind, intuitive mind, we have not forgotten anything, we remember everything. We can take ourselves back to the exact moments in the past when we shut the door of our heart to ourselves, to others, to God. Once there, we can reopen those doors in the safety of the knowledge of our unity with the Divine and heal what we have carried in our hearts that has remained unhealed. We can finish our unfinished business from the past. We can free ourselves to stop dragging our past into our future.

THERE IS WISDOM INSIDE US - It's awesome how much wisdom there is deep inside us about who we are, where we came from and what we are here to do on earth. But in order to touch that wisdom, to feel the reality of the Divine living within us, to know that the Divine resides within us, we've got to go inside.

OVERCOMING FEAR - The only thing that keeps us from going inside, naturally, is our fear. Sitting still is a very difficult thing to do. Try sitting still and quieting your little mind for even five minutes. It's very difficult. Fear threatens that if you go inside, you will find nothing is in there, or something scary will be there, or you will change so much you'll lose the life you have, or you won't be able to handle it, or you'll be overcome by the feelings.

CONNECT TO THE DIVINE WITHIN - The truth is that when we get still and go within, we find out God is within -- and that knowledge and feeling affords us an outrageous confidence, hopefulness, connection and power. We will never know this power unless we connect to the Divine inside us. When you feel it -- not just know it, not just believe it -- but when you feel it, that's when things really begin shifting in your life. It is an experience, a feeling -- the presence of God within, not something we know in our mind. And it will be different for each of us...

Until we take God off the mountaintop and begin to seek 'It' within the depths of our being, we will fear it. Anything we are separate from we will inevitably fear. We will blame our hardships, failures, struggles, and losses on God. It's the wrath of God, we will think. The God outside of me will hurt me, we will believe. God who sits in judgment of me will punish me. We will believe that God is keeping score.

THE KEY - That is why going within ourselves is key -- when you descend into the truth of who you are, you will come to feel the safety and love of God deeply inside of your heart. You will feel the warmth of God's healing light and be moved by it. And the Divine eyes that already exist within will enable you to see yourself through those same eyes -- to see yourself with a new compassion and loving softness. The eyes of God that lay buried within us allow us to see the truth of everything and everyone around us, including and most especially us.

ALL IN ALL - When we are convinced of the Divinity within us, that God is 'All in All' and lives in us, we become bold, brave, courageous beings. We have eyes that see past, present, and future, and we learn the truth about who we are. Each of us has this tremendous spiritual power that is the secret of life. It exists, and it exists inside us. We don't have to beg or plead that something be given to us that already exists within us. We have only to open our awareness to the knowledge that God lives, God is real, God is right here. God is right here inside us. The moment we begin to open our conscious mind to accept that belief, things within ourselves and within our lives shift, move, heal.

THE SECRET OF LIFE - The secret of life lies within you. To utilize it, recognize that it lives inside you and then identify with it as who you are: My mind is living in the mind of God, my heart is beating in the heart of God, my soul is living in the soul of God. God can't do anything for you if you don't allow the Divine to move through you.

MIRACLES - When we access the power and wisdom that is already inside us waiting to be tapped, then, in partnership with the Divine, we can heal. We can move the mountains in our lives. That's what miracles are -- allowing that Divine power within each of us to do its outrageous WORK THROUGH US. The miracle of realizing we are at ONE WITH GOD.

Opening the Third Eye
Peter Halpin
The concept of opening the Third Eye is really about stimulating the pineal gland in the base of the brain...

It is believed by some to be a dormant organ that can be awakened to enable "telepathic" communication and an awareness of things not perceived by the natural senses....

In the physical body the eye views objects upside down. It sends the image of what it observes to the brain which interprets the image and makes it appear right side-up to us. But the human body has another physical eye which 'sees' things, whose function has long been recognized by humanity. It is called the 'Third Eye' and like an eye, needs to be "opened". It is long thought to have mystical powers. Many consider it the Spiritual Third Eye, our Inner Vision....

When the pineal gland awakens one feels a pressure at the base of the brain. This pressure will often be experienced when connecting to higher frequency. A head injury can also activate the Third Eye (Pineal Gland). Development of psychic talents has been closely associated with this organ of higher vision...

To activate the 'third eye' and perceive higher dimensions, the pineal and pituitary glands must vibrate in unison, which is achieved through specific meditation and relaxation techniques. When the right relationship is established between personality, operating through the body, and the soul, operating through the pinealgland, a magnetic field is created. The negative and positive forces interact and become strong enough to create a phenomenon known as the 'light in the head...

The first step in directing the energies in your inner system to opening the third eye, is visualization exercises. By focusing your mind on the midway point between the pineal gland and the pituitary, a magnetic field is created around the pineal gland. Your creative imagination will then visualize something and the mind's thoughts which are energy, will give life and direction to what you visualize...

The third eye is an organ of the light body or energy body. When the third eye is opened it has access to the layers or dimensions of the soul. By the soul we mean the memories of the light or energy being within us. These memories contain the past, future and present dimensions of what inormally defined as time. The third eye is the gateway or portal to the dimensionality of space which may be described as space or time. You can enter through a portal to another dimension in order to travel. Many people have experienced this partially via dreams and visions...

Here is an exercise you can try....

Sit quietly clear your mind of diversions and clutter take a few slow deep breaths and start to focus on the screen in your mind...

Colours should start to come into view. Keep watching the colours relax and breathe deeply and slowly. The colours will now turn into a shape that you may or may not recognize...

If you do not see anything this could be because you are not relaxed or you are nervous....

If this happens just go back and try again a little later in the day...

Once you have connected with your third eye you will have a sense of floating in a sea of energy...

When the third eye opens, the mind is flooded with light, insights, and inspiration. This is a very common meditation experience. It can happen gradually over time, or quite suddenly. If the third eye opens wide and it’s sudden, it usually occurs for a period of time, and then re-calibrates to a new aperture setting that is more open than before, but not wide open continuously...

Beginning mediators report all kinds of phenomenon, which aren’t really phenomenon, but rather the first opening of the inner senses: Visions, profound feelings and the smelling of scents that are not physically present...

Rethinking Complaining

Rethinking Complaining
__________________________________

We all know someone who has elevated the process of complaining to a high art. Sometimes funny, sometimes exhausting, these people have the ability to find a problem just about anywhere. In its more evolved form, complaining is simply the ability to see what’s not working, in one’s own life or in the external world, and it can be quite useful if followed to its natural conclusion—finding a solution and applying it. However, many of us don’t get that far, and we find that complaining has become an end in itself. In small doses, this is not a big problem, but if complaining has become a huge part of our identities, it may be time to take a good look at how we are spending our energy.

Complaining is a person’s way of acknowledging that they are not happy with the way things are. In a metaphorical way, when we complain or criticize, we are tearing down an undesirable structure in order to make room for something new. But if all we do is tear down, never bothering to summon the creative energy required to create something new, we are not fulfilling the process. In fact, we are at risk for becoming a stagnant and destructive force in our own lives and in the lives of the people we love. Another issue with complaining is that we sometimes tend to focus on other people, whom we can’t change, as a way of deflecting attention from the one person we can change—ourselves. So transforming complaining into something useful is a twofold process that begins with turning our critical eye to look at things we can actually do something about, and then taking positive action.

When we find ourselves complaining, the last thing we need to do is get down on ourselves. Instead, we can begin by noticing that we are in the mode of wanting to make some changes. But rather than lashing out at somebody or an organization, we can look for an appropriate place to channel this energy—not our neighbor’s house, but possibly parts of our own. Finally, we can ask ourselves the positive question of what we would like to create in the place of whatever it is we want to tear down. When we do this, we channel a negative habit into a creative process, thus using our energy to change the world around us in a positive way.
